Coen Vermeeren
Coen Vermeeren holds a PhD in aerospace engineering.
He taught first- and second-year students at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft the subjects Aircraft materials, aircraft constructions and production techniques in the period 2001-2011. Between 2003-2017 he was also Head of Studium Generale at TU Delft.
Biography
Since 2009, Vermeeren has strongly advocated in the Netherlands to bring the global UFO dossier to the attention of science and the general public. During lectures, Vermeeren's students asked questions about YouTube videos from NASA in response to statements made by astronauts about UFOs: "Houston, we still see the alien spacecraft...". Vermeeren decided to investigate this thoroughly and, partly due to the large number of professional witnesses (trained observers such as air traffic controllers, pilots, military personnel and even astronauts) in Steven Greer's 'Disclosure Project', came to the conclusion that the subject deserved very serious attention.
Vermeeren had contact with various important UFO witnesses and experts, including General Wilfried de Brouwer (Belgian Air Force), Edgar Mitchell (6th man on the Moon) and Paul Hellyer (former Minister of Defence of Canada). Vermeeren also received support from various quarters: including Space journalist Piet Smolders (Planetarium Amsterdam and for decades associated with the daily newspaper De Telegraaf), ir. Edward Heerema (offshore company Allseas), prof.dr. Herman Wijffels (economist and former director of Rabobank and the World Bank) and various other academics, including prof.dr.ir. Michel van Tooren (aerospace - former professor in Delft and the University of South Carolina) and prof.dr. Klaas van Egmond (Utrecht University).
Vermeeren was subjected to a load of unfounded criticism after he openly shared his conclusions and curiosity about the well-documented, but very briefly known UFO file with his students and other interested parties. The accusations were mainly ad hominem and hardly or not at all substantiated. Instead of a serious debate, Vermeeren was immediately dismissed as a conspiracy theorist – including via the Delft university magazine Delta.
However, serious media such as the daily newspaper NRC, de Morgen, the AD and journalistic research programs such as KRO Brandpunt did pay serious attention to the UFO subject. Vermeeren himself also received support from many hundreds of interested parties, UFO witnesses and UFO experts.
In 2013, Vermeeren decided to record his quest in a book about UFOs for laymen and experts: UFOs simply exist. This book became a bestseller and in 2021 it was already in its 9th edition. In 2021, Vermeeren wrote a new book: UFOs: the 100 most impressive UFO files.

9/11
In 2006, Vermeeren stumbled upon the 9/11 file by chance. Through a summer assignment for the Studium Generale, the claims of prior knowledge and the poor substantiation of the collapse of the Twin Towers, but mainly of building WTC 7, were openly investigated by two groups of Delft engineering students. The VARA program Zembla devoted an entire item to, among other things, the investigation of these students.
Strange statements about this in the NRC, however, led to a bizarre commotion about this technical multidisciplinary assignment. As a result, Vermeeren also decided to delve deeply into the 9/11 matter. When Delft professors did not want to debate with the chairman of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth in 2015 – who called on the American Congress to conduct a new independent investigation – Vermeeren decided to put this investigation in writing as well. This led to the publication of the book ‘9/11 is gewoon een conspiracy’ (sold out) in 2016, which was immediately well received. The book was presented during a 9/11 conference in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. An update of that book has now been published, entitled 9/11 Complex.
For a long time now, so much has been known about 9/11 that a new investigation, called for by relatives of the victims of 9/11 and by the group of now almost 3,500 international architects and engineers, seems more than justified. In September 2020, the University of Fairbanks Alaska presented a devastating investigation that completely undermines the official 9/11 investigation by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology – the American TNO, so to speak) into the collapse of the 3 WTC towers.

Lectures
Since 2009, Vermeeren has been invited dozens of times a year for lectures and debates for a very diverse audience of laymen and academics. Vermeeren can also be seen in various TV and radio programs on all commercial and non-commercial broadcasters.
In addition to being a scientist, Vermeeren is also a writer and a gifted musician. Since September 2017, after his dismissal from TU Delft, he has been an independent thinker, scientist and philosopher.
